| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Asset tag | Your district's own identifier for the device (printed on the asset label). |
| Serial number | The manufacturer's serial. Used to match devices during sync, so keep it accurate. |
| Make / Model | Manufacturer and model name — powers the AI forecast's per-model pricing. |
| Device type | Laptop, Chromebook, iPad / Tablet, Desktop, Printer, Monitor, or Other. |
| EOL / AUE date | End-of-life, or for Chromebooks the Auto Update Expiration date. Drives lifecycle staging and budget forecasts. |
| Status | Active, In repair, Loaner, or Retired. |
| Device name, PO number, MAC addresses | Optional extras: a friendly name/description, the purchase-order number, and the wired and wireless MAC addresses. All are searchable in the device table. |
| Assigned to | Who or where the device is for (a student, room, or cart). As you type it suggests people from your team, but free text is fine too. |
ℹ️
MAC address fields only accept hex digits and separators, and must be a full 6-octet address (e.g.
aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff) to save. Google Workspace sync and file/push imports apply the same rule, so a malformed MAC from a source is dropped rather than stored.
