This is the last post in a long run, and I want to use it to look forward and be honest about where things stand.
Edventory is early, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. It is built by someone using it every day in real districts, which is its greatest strength, and it is also still growing into everything I want it to be. I would rather tell you that plainly than oversell it. If you come in expecting a twenty year old product with a thousand person company behind it, that is not what this is. What it is, is a tool built by a working technology director who got tired of the gaps and decided to close them, one module at a time.
Where it goes from here is more of the same direction, just further. More of the daily work folded into one place. More of the manual, repetitive, easy to forget tasks handled by the system instead of by an overloaded person. More visibility into costs so that budget season is a presentation, not a fight. The north star does not change. Give the thin, stretched, underfunded technology departments that hold up our schools a tool that respects their time and their constraints.
If you run technology for a district, I would genuinely like to hear what is breaking your week, because that is where the next features come from. Not from a roadmap I dreamed up in isolation, but from the same place every existing feature came from, a real problem a real person hit on a real Tuesday.
