Guides for K-12 technology teams
Four long-form guides written by a working technology director, on the new Guides page: Chromebook management for schools; K-12 device lifecycle and refresh budgeting; Chromebook check-out and end-of-year collection; and setting up a help desk for IT, facilities, and HR. Each one works on a spreadsheet or in Edventory and links the free tools where they apply.
Free tools: Chromebook AUE report, inventory template, price comparison
A new Free tools hub with tools that need no account:
- Chromebook AUE report. Upload the device list you export from the Google Admin console and see every Chromebook grouped by the school year its Auto Update Expiration lands in, the devices already past AUE, a replacement budget with an editable cost per device, and the models driving the plan. The file is read in memory and not stored; the summary can be emailed to you.
- Chromebook inventory spreadsheet template. A CSV for Google Sheets or Excel with the fourteen columns a district needs, matching Edventory's import fields so the same file imports later.
- Price comparison calculator. What you pay per student or per device today against the flat tier your district falls in.
- Apple model identifier lookup. Paste an identifier like iPad12,1 or a model name and get the model, Apple's release date, and an estimated end of support.
Vendor packet for procurement
A vendor packet page for the business office: how to buy on a purchase order, the published tiers with a note that they sit under most formal-bid thresholds, a sole-source letter, the FERPA posture, a security summary, and vendor facts. Quotes, W-9s, and sole-source letters are provided on request through the contact form.
Book a walkthrough from anywhere on the site
Every page now has a "Book a 20-minute walkthrough" button that lands on the contact form with the intent preselected. The form asks whether you want a walkthrough, a question answered, or a quote for a PO. Real product screenshots from the demo district now appear on the home page, and more comparison pages were added for the K-12 tools districts evaluate alongside Edventory.
Reports: ticket-volume dates
The ticket-volume chart on the Reports overview showed "Invalid Date" on its axis. Fixed.
Professional Growth: budget codes, goals, course types, purchase orders, and a file cabinet
A round of changes from district feedback on the Professional Growth module:
- Budget codes with a funding source (grant, local, personal, other), managed by administrators or the business office. An educator can suggest one on a request; the business office sets it when the packet is accepted.
- District goals as a managed list of strategic priorities, plus a free-text personal goal on every request. Both show on the request detail.
- Course types are now a district-managed list instead of a fixed set, and the same names feed session categories.
- Reflection prompts are clearer: what you learned, how it will change your practice, and the impact for students.
- External purchase-order number recorded when a packet is accepted or marked paid.
- Spend by budget code report for managers, grouped by code and funding source, by school year.
- Personal file cabinet. Each educator can keep up to ten documents (certificates, transcripts, receipts) and attach them to any request without re-uploading.
- Managers can now delete a request or a session outright, with a confirmation; educators keep withdraw and unregister.
Device Usage: grade filter and longer date ranges
The Usage view adds a "No grade" filter for devices without a grade and wider ranges: today, 7, 30, 90, 180, and 365 days, plus a custom range.
Feedback: responses come back to you
When an operator replies to feedback you sent from the app, the reply now appears under "Your feedback" in the app, and you are notified by email.
Device Care: platform on every report
Device Care reports now label the reporting device's platform (Windows, Mac, or Chromebook) so mixed fleets are easier to read.
