Requesting PD: costs, mileage and who pays
From My PD → + New request, a teacher fills in a short form that only asks for what applies, then sends it for approval.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| What is it? | The name of the conference, workshop or course, with its type, provider and dates. |
| Where | The venue's street address. It is also where mileage ends. |
| Planned hours | Shown to the principal, and filled in for you when you turn in the Completion. |
| Counts toward | Graduate credit, Recertification hours, Mentor hours or Mentee hours. Reports total each one separately. |
| Who pays | District pays (PO or vendor), Reimburse me (you pay, then turn in a receipt), or No cost. |
| Costs & travel | Registration or tuition, lodging for an overnight stay (nights optional), mileage, and other costs such as parking. Edventory adds them up for the estimated cost. |
Mileage
Tick I'm driving. The start address is your school's and the end address is the venue's; change either one if you need to. Where Edventory can look up driving distances, Calculate miles fills in the one-way miles from Google Maps. Otherwise, or if you prefer, type the one-way miles yourself.
Always a round trip
Edventory doubles the one-way miles and prices them at your district's mileage rate, for example "12.4 mi each way x 2 = 24.8 mi round trip, $17.36 at $0.70/mi".
Supports
"Supports our school goal" is checked for you. You can also pick one of your plan goals, so the activity counts toward that goal's progress.
💡
You can edit a request until an approver signs off, and withdraw it if plans change. The request shows a three-step bar, Prior approval, Approved and Payment, so you always know where it is.
